Michigan Medicine faculty members have been partnering with collaborators in Brazil for decades. Former U-M President Mary Sue Coleman visited Brazil in 2012 and signed collaboration agreements with several institutions. Much of the Michigan Medicine's partnership focuses on the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP) and its satellite campus in Ribeirão Preto. In addition to robust student and trainee exchanges to and from Brazil, the Platform comprises more than a dozen individual collaborations across a number of disciplines. Some of the latest include partnerships in Emergency Medicine, Nursing, and Palliative Care.
