Welcome, new graduate students!

The Cancer Biology Graduate Program is excited to welcome three new PIBS students who have indicated Cancer Biology as their primary research interest.

 
Barbara Nelson

Barbara was accepted as a PIBS student in 2015 and began her graduate studies at the University of Michigan in July of the same year. She plans to rotate in the labs of Eric FearonCostas Lyssiotis, and Howard Crawford before selecting her graduate degree program.

Barbara holds a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and worked as a technician and then a lab manager following her undergraduate education.

 

 

Ben Chandler

Ben was accepted as a PIBS student in 2015 and began his graduate studies at the University of Michigan in September of the same year. He plans to rotate in the labs of David Beer and Scott Tomlins before selecting his graduate degree program.

Ben holds a B.S. from the University of Michigan where he participated in research on long non-coding RNAs and their role in prostate cancer in the lab of Arul Chinnaiyan.

 

 

 

Donald Little

Donald was accepted as a PIBS student and Rackham Merit Fellow in 2015 and began his graduate studies at the University of Michigan in July of the same year. He plans to rotate in the labs of Maria CastroDonna Shewach, and Gary Hammer before selecting his graduate degree program.

Donald holds a B.S. in Genetics from Purdue University where he also participated in research on chromatin structure and function. He also participated in a summer research internship at Stowers Institute for Medical Research on stem cells and regeneration.
