Paola Isabel Medina-Cabrera was born and raised in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Natural Science with a major in Microbiology at the University of Puerto Rico at Humacao (UPRH). In 2021, she was part of the Postbac Research Education Program at University of Michigan (UM PREP), where she studied how to manipulate T cell signaling for anti-cancer immune responses in Dr. Adam Courtney’s lab. Currently, she joined the PIBS program with interest in cancer biology and immunotherapies.

My research interest is primarily in translational research related on the development or improvement of new treatment strategies for cancer.
