Biography

Bhaavna Yalavarthi is a pre-medical undergraduate sophomore at the University of Michigan. She is planning to apply to the School of Public Health to pursue her major and the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy to pursue her minor. She is passionate about health equity, which is what led her to the Chronic Pain and Fatigue Research Center Health Equity Core, where she currently serves as research assistant. Bhaavna is also involved in numerous University of Michigan student organizations, including CURIS Public Health Advocacy, the Prison Birth Project, and Roosevelt. In her future, Bhaavna hopes to become a doctor who is involved in creating health policy that addresses health disparities.
