We are excited to welcome Dr. Cedric Feschotte from the University of Utah School of Medicine as our keynote speaker. Dr. Feschotte is a world expert on the study of mobile genetic elements and evolutionary biology. The title of his talk will be, “Fighting fire with fire: endogenous retroviruses orchestrate the innate immune response.” Dr. Feschotte recently published a paper in Science that highlights this work (Chuong, et al., Science, 2016, PMID: 26941318).
