Areas of Interest

My thesis work investigates the healthcare-associated pathogen Clostridium difficile. I apply data mining approaches to patient microbiota composition, pathogen genetic information, and clinical metadata to identify interactions that suggest mechanisms of C. difficile pathogenesis, colonization, recurrence or severity. I test potential mechanisms with a combination of both in vitro and in vivo approaches.
