This summer, 15 rising UM freshmen had an insider’s view of all things genetics during a unique 5 week immersive mini-course developed by DHG Faculty
The students extracted their DNA from saliva, programmed robots to teach them about genomic sequencing, and more! They also learned how genetics intersects fields like medicine, computerscience, ecology, evodevo, forensics and genetic counseling.
