Alex is originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, and obtained his BS in Mechanical Engineering at Arizona State University. Prior to attending the University of Michigan, Alex conducted research at a NIH-funded clinical research lab at the University of Arizona. His prior research activities included studying the effects of balloon sinuplasty on the sinus microbiome, CFTR-mediated and rhinovirus exacerbated sinus disease. As an intern in infusion pharmacy, he is involved with fulfilling medication orders and compounding IV medications for oncology patients at Michigan Medicine. In the future, he hopes to complete a 2-year residency and ultimately pursue a career in academic pharmacy.
