Corina Spanu, PharmD

PGY-1 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Resident

Hometown: Iasi, Romania

Pharmacy School: University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy

Why did you choose Michigan's residency program? Michigan was love at first interview. Just 5 minutes into my PPS discussion with Stan Kent about the HSPA program I knew I wanted to come here. Visiting Ann Arbor brought memories of the best white Christmases growing up, clarity to which mentors I would want to surround myself with as a resident. Not to mention the cherry on the top: a Ross MBA.

Advice for future residents: don’t compare yourself to others, play to your strengths and you will persevere

Favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor (and why): Zingerman’s Deli. I live on the same street, and it has never ceased to impress me: coffee, sandwiches, variety of cheese!!, and service.

Favorite part about doing residency at Michigan Medicine: my co-residents and the therapy dogs at Mott.
