Biography
William Weir is a senior integrated thoracic surgery resident at the University of Michigan. He obtained his B.A. in chemistry at Kalamazoo College in 2011 and his
medical degree from the University of Michigan in 2015, where he graduated with distinction in clinical assessment. Dr. Weir’s research interests include lung
transplant outcomes, extracorporeal support, and donor organ preservation. During his academic development time he obtained additional training in mechanical
support and surgical critical care, his primary clinical interest. Dr. Weir currently serves as the Chair of the House Officer Quality and Safety Committee and is
passionate about maximizing clinical outcomes in large health systems.
