The Lawrence-Hawkins Symposium was established in 2004 to honor the research legacy of the founding faculty members of the Kresge Hearing Research Institute, Drs. Merle Lawrence and Joseph Hawkins.
The one-day event is devoted to basic science and clinically related presentations by students, fellows and residents of the department and highlighted with a morning presentation by a distinguished alumnus. Department faculty, trainees and alumni are invited to attend.
This year we welcome keynote lecturer and KHRI alumnus Tianying Ren, M.D., M.S., professor at the Oregon Hearing Research Center at the Oregon Health & Science University. The title of Dr. Ren's talk on Thursday, October 17 is "Distortion products in basilar membrane and reticular lamina vibrations". Dinner on October 17 is by invitation only; please contact Debbie Stout at [email protected] with any questions.
