Shelly Flagel, Ph.D.

Dr. Flagel is an alumnus of the Neuroscience Graduate Program and is now a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and a Research Professor at the Michigan Neuroscience Institute. She is a Member of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology and a Kavli National Academy of Sciences Fellow. Her research focuses on understanding the behavioral and neurobiological factors contributing to individual differences in reward learning and susceptibility to psychiatric disorders. She is specifically interested in the psychological mechanisms that underlie and influence appetitive Pavlovian learning and the neural circuitry involved in these processes.
