E. Josephine Clowney, Assistant Professor of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology and Director of the Kavli Neuroscience Innovators, joins 1,000 early career scientists as a Pew Scholar. Clowney will use this opportunity to focus on unraveling how female and male brain development are programmed to allow sex-specific behaviors.
Alex (Sutton Lab) successfully defended his thesis " Homeostatic metaplasticity in hippocampal neuronal networks. " on June 7, 2021.
Jacque (Becker Lab) successfully defended her thesis " Sex Differences in the Role of GPER1 in the Dorsolateral Striatum on Motivation and Reward " on June 4, 2021.
Jacque will be staying in Becker lab as a post-doc for the next year.
The Board of Directors of the McKnight Endowment Fund for Neuroscience has selected seven neuroscientists to receive the 2021 McKnight Scholar Award. Two of them are from UM and they are both members of the Kavli Neuroscience Innovators .
