Areas of Interest

During my PhD, I worked on mapping brain circuits that help control feeding behaviors. These circuits signal by synthesizing and releasing alpha- melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH), hypocretin/orexin (H/O), and nitric oxide (NO) throughout the hypothalamus. This project aimed to demonstrate the spatial distributions of these proteins in relation to each other and the distributions of their possible zones of synaptic interactions regarding a standardized atlas.
