Traci Fischer Joins MNI as Communications Specialist

On January 3, the Michigan Neuroscience Institute (MNI) welcomed Traci Fischer to its administrative team to lead the institute's outreach and communication efforts.

In this position, Traci’s work includes raising MNI’s visibility across campus by sharing research news, publications, and successes; creating and updating MNI website content; establishing a digital presence; creating social media content; and event support.

Traci comes to us with a wealth of communications experience, including seven years at Michigan Medicine where she handled communications for the Cardiovascular Center and Ambulatory Care Services. In 2021, she briefly moved on to become a Communications & Community Relations Specialist for the Jackson Collaborative Network/Henry Ford Health System and is very excited to return “home” to the University of Michigan to help the MNI with their communications efforts.

“We are very excited to have Traci join MNI,” said MNI Interim Co-Director Shelly Flagel, Ph.D. “She has already proven to be a valuable contributor to MNI’s communications strategy and brings great experience, energy, and creativity to this newly-created position.”

Traci holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Michigan University and Graduate Certificates in Desktop Publishing and Print Management from the George Washington University. She can be reached at [email protected] or (734) 764-4233. Her office will be at 1016 MBNI, and Traci will be working in a hybrid capacity (office and home).

Please welcome Traci to MNI and make sure you share your publications, innovations, and research successes with her!
