These honors are given to a cohort of early-career scientists who represent a promising future for biomedical science.
Each fellow is given up to $1.5 million in support for up to eight years and becomes part of a close-knit community of Hanna Gray Fellows who participate in professional development, mentorship, and networking with their peers and the broader HHMI community of scientists.
"I'm excited to research how brain circuits regulate learning. With the Hanna Gray Fellowship, I'll study the brains of diverse insects with varying learning abilities, linking structural differences in the brain to functional differences in cognition,” said Dr. Heckman.
