2024 Society for Ambulatory Assessment Conference Brings Over 200 Scientists to Ann Arbor

The Prechter Program and EmoTe Lab were featured in several presentations at the conference.

Dr. Sarah Sperry and Dr. Aidan Wright (Psychology, Eisenberg Family Depression Center) were the conference planners and co-hosts of the Society for Ambulatory Assessment (SAA) annual meeting June 3rd to June 6th hosted at the University of Michigan. This society brings together experts across the world who use ambulatory assessments (smartphones, wearables, biosensors) to study mental and physical health. The conference drew 217 scientists from over 12 countries who came together at the Michigan League. Dr. Sperry was recognized for her contributions to the society and nominated to the executive committee for a four year tenure. Dr. Emily Mower Provost

Dr. Emily Mower Provost gave one of the conference keynotes, From Speech to Emotion to Mood: Mental Health Modeling in Natural Environments, in which she described the Prechter Program PRIORI project.

Audrey Stromberg

Audrey Stromberg, a graduate student in the EmoTe Lab, gave an oral presentation, Dynamic Relationships between Daily Physical Activity and Mood in Bipolar Disorders.

Victoria Murphy, a post-bac research coordinator in the Prechter Program, gave an oral presentation focused on her honor’s thesis work conducted in the EmoTe Lab, Using Ambulatory Assessments to Examine the Interplay Between Sleep and Emotion-Based Impulsivity in Bipolar Disorder.

Julia Smith, a post-bac research coordinator in the EmoTe Lab, gave an oral presentation, Real-Time Assessment of Emotion-Based Impulsivity in Bipolar Disorder.

Shamara Williams

Shamara Williams, a post-bac research coordinator in the Prechter Program, presented a poster, Advancing Mood Detection in Bipolar Disorder: Preliminary learnings from PRIORI.
