The Livonia Center for Specialty Care now offers innovative new treatment for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

The Rezūm Treatment, a minimally invasive, single-visit procedure, utilizing steam vapor to treat enlarged prostates, is now available at the Livonia Center for Specialty Care

Urologists from Michigan Medicine’s Department of Urology are now offering the Rezūm treatment at the Livonia Center for Specialty Care, serving as one of Michigan’s only providers of this revolutionary new treatment.

Rezūm delivers a targeted dose of steam directly to the prostate tissue in need of attention, providing significant improvement in BPH symptoms. Rezūmalso works with minimal discomfort and fewer side effects than traditional BPH treatments, but includes:

  • No need for hospitalization
  • Small risk for UTIs or urinary bleeding
  • Minimal risk for worsening of erectile dysfunction
  • Coverage from most insurance plans

Rezūm therapy can be completed in a single outpatient visit (or series of visits), with a minimal amount of follow up care required.

The addition of the Rezūm treatment adds to the Livonia Center for Specialty Care’s already impressive range of urologic service offerings. In addition to this range of services, the LCSC also offers increased access to U-M Urology doctors and convenient parking.
