Biography

Dr. Schill joined the University of Michigan in 2018, as a post-doctoral research fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Sue O’Shea. He received his B.S. in cellular/molecular biology and human biology from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay followed in 2018 by his Ph.D. in cellular and developmental biology from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he carried out research on human hepatocyte differentiation in the laboratory of Dr. Lisa Cirillo.  His work in the O’Shea laboratory has focused on understanding the differences between GABAergic neurons from bipolar patients vs. undiagnosed individuals and investigating the composition and role of astrocyte-derived exosomes in bipolar disorder.
