Areas of Interest

Dr. Yehoash Raphel's research interests include inner ear biology, protection and regeneration, gene therapy, genetic deafness, CHARGE Syndrome and stem cell therapy.

  • Israel “Mifal Hapais” award for excellence in science, 1984.
  • First prize Award from the Royal Society of Medicine, UK, “Exmoor Plastics Short Paper Prize”.  Reduction of eighth nerve degeneration following cochlear implantation with a stimulating electrode secreting brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF).  May, 2003.
  • National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA) Award for Most Valuable Presentation, 2004.
