May 2024 - Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Month and, while promoting mental health is important all year, this special month of recognition raises awareness about mental illness, its prevalence in today's society, and its impacts on people of all ages and backgrounds.

IN-PERSON EVENTS:

Anxiety in Adults and Kids: Tips for All Ages, in collaboration with Ann Arbor District Library:

5/13, 6:30-7:30pm. Our expert speakers will give a short presentation about anxiety, explain how it differs in kids and adults, touch on treatment methods and medication options, and highlight what you can do on your to calm your own anxiety and help your children cope with theirs. Event page.

 

34th Annual Albert J. Silverman Research Conference
Psychiatry in the Age of Generative Artificial Intelligence

5/22, 8:00am-12:00pm. This conference will begin with a poster session from 8:00 - 9:45 AM in the second floor atrium of the Rachel Upjohn Building. Researchers will discuss their academic presentations from the past year. Breakfast refreshments will be provided.
This will be followed at 10am by this year's lecture: Psychiatry in the Age of Generative Artificial Intelligence. All are welcome to attend. Event page.
