Responsible Conduct of Research

The University of Michigan demands that faculty and trainees follow the highest ethical standards when conducting research and scholarship. Initiated by the Graduate School in 2013, training in the responsible conduct of research is now a requirement for all PhD students that must be satisfied prior to advancing to candidacy. All graduate students and postdoctoral fellows are required to take the Medical School course, PIBS 503 Research Responsibility and Ethics to satisfy the NIH requirements for training in the responsible conduct of research.
