Research Interests

Development and application of computer vision tools to improve safety and enhance audiovisual feedback during vitreoretinal surgery; establishing an artificial intelligence-based pediatric retina screening system using wide-field fundus images; development of robotic-assisted optical coherence tomography in adult and pediatric retina; creating a pediatric retina curriculum for fellows.

Clinical Interests

Diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous, including retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, ocular trauma, macular surgery, surgical management of complex retinal detachment, and scleral-fixated intraocular lenses; medical and surgical treatment of pediatric retinal diseases including retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), familial exudative vitreoretinopathy (FEVR), Coats’ disease, pediatric retinal detachment, gene therapy for retinal dystrophies, and ocular trauma.
