The Vision

The establishment of the Kevin K. Tremper, Ph.D., M.D., Professorship in Anesthesiology will grant its honoree the critical access to resources needed to continue to conduct important clinical research in anesthesiology and surgical outcomes.
This patient-centered clinical research will directly impact the point of care: it will advance our understanding of patient recovery after surgery, the use of advanced analytics and machine learning to help clinicians make more informed decisions, and enable pilot clinical trials evaluating fundamental anesthetic choices.
Aligned with strong leaders of the past — among them Dr. Tremper, chair, 1991-2019 — the holder of this professorship will continue to make Michigan Medicine a place where the most interesting and important questions are answered. The work will directly impact the care we provide at the bedside.
