Director of Disaster Preparedness - Department of Emergency Medicine

Job Description

The Division of EMS Prehospital Medicine within the Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a faculty member to serve as Director of Disaster Preparedness. The position will aide in the design, development, and implementation of disaster preparedness programming and disaster response at the department and hospital level, while also collaborating with the Emergency Management branch of the Department of Public Safety and Security to provide Emergency Preparedness and Response support at the institutional level and beyond.

Qualifications

  • Must be EMS Board Certified/Eligible with at least two years of EMS subspecialty expertise in the realm of disaster preparedness or have graduated from an EMS fellowship with specific disaster focus.
  • Current clinical activity in the practice of EMS must demonstrate extensive active involvement in disaster preparedness committee at the local, regional, state and/or national level.
  • The ideal applicant would have completed NIMS ICS 100/200/300/400/700/800 and the Center for Domestic Preparedness Courses on HCL and HERT, or equivalent.
