Research Project: Barriers to Women in Emergency Medicine

Goals:

  • Identify selection factors that female medical students prioritize when considering Emergency Medicine
  • Identify the selection factors that are negatively associated with female medical students selecting Emergency Medicine residency

Christina Cutter, MD, MSc

Research Project: Decision Fatigue in the Emergency Department

Goals:

  • Determine the influence of decision fatigue on appropriateness and diagnostic yield of imaging studies in the emergency department
  • Examine whether there are structural factors that are protective against decision fatigue surrounding appropriateness and diagnostic yield of imaging studies in the emergency department

Rachel Solnick, MD

Research Project: Improving Understanding of the Barriers to ED-based Expedited Partner Therapy

Goals:

  • Quantify the current use of EPT at Michigan Medicine using clinical data approach
  • Quantify current knowledge and interest level of EPT across national residency-affiliated EM Departments
  • Characterize the barriers and facilitators to EPT initiation in the ED and develop an implementation toolkit
