GIVING BLUEDAY - Survival Flight

What is Giving Blueday, you ask? Giving Blueday is an annual day of giving, scheduled to coincide with Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving following Thanksgiving weekend. It is a day for Wolverines to join together and combine their support to maximize impact. The fourth annual Giving Blueday will take place on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, from 12 a.m. through 11:59 p.m. EST.

Every day, hundreds of people arrive at the University of Michigan in need of emergency care. They arrive by car, by ambulance, and via our Survival Flight transport service. Whether their condition is mildly acute, or imminently life threatening, we are here to ensure they receive the best possible care.

Our dedicated team in the Department of Emergency Medicine gives their all to patient care, scientific discovery, and education each and every day. Now you have the opportunity to give to them.

Elaine Philipson was afraid of heights before she became a survival flight nurse. Now, she works in jets and helicopters daily, helping patients while flying through the air at 160 mph.

Want an in-person opportunity to see the lifesaving work our Survival Flight heroes, like Elaine, do? On November 28, we are turning Giving Tuesday into #GivingBlueday. By making a donation to the Survival Flight Fund, you’ll be entered to win a tour and see how our facilities work! Please note this tour does not include a flight.
