In addition, he mentored many of the current administrative and academic leaders in our institution.  At the national level, Dr. Barsan has served as President of the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine, Association of Academic Chairs in Emergency Medicine, and the American Board of Emergency Medicine.  He continues to lead our clinical research efforts focusing on neurological emergencies and innovative clinical trial design.
