For Patients:

Maternal Fetal Medicine

At the University of Michigan Health System, our Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division works together with a team of specialists to manage high-risk pregnancies, optimize fetal well-being, educate and support families, and provide hope to the tiniest of patients. Through the partnership of Women’s Hospital, Mott Children’s Hospital, and an established Fetal Diagnostics and Treatment Center, we work to get both the family and baby to that happy first meeting.

Our Women's and Children's Hospitals are under the same roof, allowing us to provide care for high-risk pregnant mothers and their unborn babies, and transition care seamlessly after birth to our Level IV NICU and world-class pediatric subspecialists.

We offer families comprehensive and coordinated care, using a family-centered approach.

Additionally, we provide a full range of consultative and diagnostic services, including genetic counseling, preconception counseling, prenatal diagnosis, genetic amniocentesis, chronic villus sampling, ultrasound scanning and all antenatal testing.
