Women's Health

The Division of Women’s Health (General Obstetrics and Gynecology) was founded in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1993 to support University of Michigan Health Systems' obstetrical and gynecological clinical activities throughout Southeast Michigan. The division has been responsible for a very large portion of the deliveries in our Labor and Delivery Unit, which has experienced a large increase in activity over the last 10 years.

In addition to the division’s clinical practice, our faculty regularly teach medical students and house staff, and take regular rotations on supervisory call along with the rest of the department’s faculty. We also staff continuity prenatal care clinics for the residents, and give the medical students rotating though our ambulatory office a continuity of care experience that has been very well received.
