“Review of 2024 Simulation in Healthcare Conferences: IMSH and ACS”
Laura Mason, MSN, RN, NPD-BC and Karrie Martis, BSN, RN, NPD-BC are nurse educators who work in the Nursing Professional Development & Education Department at UM.  They attended the 2024 International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH) in San Diego, CA in January.  IMSH is a scientific conference that explores the latest innovations and best practices in healthcare simulation to improve patient safety.

Deborah Rooney, PhD is the Director of Education and Research for the UM Clinical Simulation Center. She attended the 2024 American College of Surgeons’ Surgeons and Engineers and the Surgical Summit conferences in Chicago, IL in March. The Surgeons and Engineers conference provides a forum for the exchange of technologies between surgeons, surgical educators, engineers, and scientists, while the Surgical Summit meeting provides a forum for collaboration for all things surgical education, with a focus on simulation-based training.

Speakers will share their key takeaways from their conference experience.
