Liz is Administrative Assistant Senior in the Department of Learning Health Sciences and is located on the 11th floor of 300 North Ingalls Building. She has been with the department since July 2018. Most recently she was doing research support in the Department of Anesthesiology.
Liz has a degree in history from Saginaw Valley State College (now University) and first came to work at U-M in the University Health Services building. From there, she took a job in the School of Public Health. While there she completed a teaching certificate from Eastern Michigan University and went to Ohio to teach English and Religion in a small sectarian high school. Having learned her lesson, she returned to the University where she worked in the Department of Surgery and then Medical School Administration before moving to the School of Dentistry. There she spent 20 years providing general secretarial and financial services support to the School, mostly working with basic scientists and their laboratories. She is very proud of the work she did with School’s Strategic Planning process. She refers to herself as a “Jill of All Trades” and considers a great day to be one in which she has learned stuff and been helpful.
She and her husband (who also works for the University) are active with church and community activities while acting as household servants to five cats. Liz is active in the local crafting community and continues her lifelong, peripatetic study of history.
