Biography
Amanda Missel is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, specializing in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and implementation. Amanda recently completed her PhD in Nursing from the University of Michigan. Her work focused on non-pharmacologic approaches to improve outcomes and decrease inflammation in adults with prediabetes or type 2 diabetes as well as issues related to healthcare access. Prior to joining the Department of Learning Health Sciences, Amanda worked in public health, inpatient cardiology, and endocrinology, which provided firsthand experience with the challenges faced in trying to improve outcomes and change practice. Amanda will work to explore out-of-hospital cardiac arrest to improve survival rates and neurologic outcomes.
