Our hand therapy staff are occupational therapists including nationally certified hand therapists (CHT’s) credentialed by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC) who have specialized and advanced training in the evaluation and treatment of upper extremity conditions (hand, wrist and elbow). They utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions such as pain management (including education and behavior modification), post-op care (scar and edema management) and facilitation of motion, strength and coordination (through exercise and arthritis and opening jars, buttons/zippers, video games, cutting and preparing food – (fun/function), keyboarding) to return to activities of daily living -- in an effort to return patients to independent functioning at home, school, and work.
