This award is intended to recognize Academy members who have distinguished themselves through their personal dedication and leadership to the advancement of the orthotic and prosthetic profession. This individual must have demonstrated a record of sustained contributions and commitment to the advancement of the ideals of the Academy and the profession.
The Academy noted of Alicia, "You embody every aspect of this award. With your long standing record of service to the O&P profession, your years of commitment to O&P education, and your everyday excellent patient care, you are well deserving of this honor. Thank you for all you have done for the Academy, the profession, and your patients throughout your career."
In addition to being the former residency director for the O&P clinical residency, Alicia has been the president of the AAOP and a board member of the National Commission of Orthotic and Prosthetic Education.
