Biography
Dr. Hassan Anbari is a board-certified diagnostic and visceral and vascular interventional radiologist specialized mainly in portal hypertension pathology with particular interest in complex portal interventions such as portal vein recanalization (PVR) and TIPS procedures. Other areas of practice including 90y radioembolization therapy for primary and metastatic liver tumor and thermal ablation of solid organ and osseous benign and malignant tumors. He holds a dual appointment at Michigan Medicine and VA health system of Ann Arbor.
Dr. Anbari had several years of general surgery training abroad and within the United States at Tufts Medical center. He is an experienced human anatomist. He finished his diagnostic radiology training at Michigan State University/Providence Hospital as a chief resident and finished his VIR fellowship at the University of Michigan. He joined the University of Michigan faculty in 2021 and currently serve as quality improvement and patient saftey lead for the VIR section. He is a strong advocate for mutidiscplinary approach to optimize medical care for liver cancer and transplant patients. His research interest is in portal hypertension and advanced complex interventions particulary in non-cirrhotic portal hypertension.

TIPS, BRTO, BATO and portal vein recanalization (PVR), biliary interventions, transarterial radioembolization, transarterial chemoembolization, uterine fibroid embolization, renal, liver and osseous tumor thermal ablation, palliative interventions and bone augmentation, and lymphatic interventions.
