Abdominal Radiology

The Abdominal Division of the Department of Radiology offers a full range of imaging services to evaluate known or suspected disorders of the abdomen and pelvis. The Division is subdivided into six separate subdivisions: Ultrasound, Cross-sectional Interventional, Gastrointestinal Radiology, Genitourinary Radiology, Abdominal Computed Tomography (CT) and Abdominal Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR).

Breast Imaging

Breast Imaging offers a comprehensive system of diagnostic breast imaging services utilizing cutting-edge equipment. Every year, we perform more than 50,000 clinical examinations utilizing state-of-the-art equipment.

Cardiothoracic Radiology

At Cardiothoracic Radiology, we provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care through our close collaborations with our colleagues in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, General Thoracic Surgery, Cardiac Surgery and Thoracic Oncology. Equipped with cutting-edge, state-of-the-art imaging technologies — many of which we have developed and tested here — we aim to provide the most comprehensive cardiac and thoracic imaging examinations available.

Emergency Radiology

Emergency Radiology comprises a specialized group of clinical imagers who provide evening and night-time interpretations primarily for the Emergency Department and the Trauma Burn Service.

Musculoskeletal Radiology

Musculoskeletal Radiology provides a complete spectrum of conventional and state-of-the-art imaging and imaging-guided interventional procedures for the musculoskeletal system.

Neuroradiology/NIR

Neuroradiology offers a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for imaging the nervous system, spine, and the head and neck. We have available: state-of-the-art angiography – including neuro-interventional diagnostic and therapeutic procedures – myelography, MR imaging and CT. Our faculty and equipment focus on nearly all areas of nervous system, spine, and head and neck imaging-directed diagnosis, therapy and research. Our Neurointerventional team comprises specialists in interventional neuroradiology, vascular and skull base neurosurgery, and neurology.

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine focuses on clinical service, research and education involving the medical uses of radiopharmaceuticals. A dedicated and experienced faculty of approximately 30 physicians and scientists lead our programs.

Pediatric Radiology

Pediatric Radiology offers a full range of diagnostic services for children, including radiography, fluoroscopic examinations and cross-sectional imaging (CT, MRI and ultrasound).

Vascular and Interventional Radiology

Interventional radiology is a subspecialty of radiology in which imaging guidance is utilized to perform minimally invasive procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes usually under conscious sedation or local anesthesia. The subspecialty trained interventional radiologists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners work with clinicians from virtually all medical and surgical specialties to provide high quality comprehensive patient care.

Veterans Administration

The Radiology Service at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System provides full imaging support for the primary and tertiary care provided at this institution.
