Cardiothoracic Radiology

Cardiothoracic Radiology constitutes a substantial proportion of the clinical imaging services provided by the Department of Radiology of Michigan Medicine. The Division of Cardiothoracic Radiology is responsible for the performance and interpretation of more than 130,000 chest radiographic examinations, and over 44,000 cardiothoracic CT and 2300 cardiothoracic MR examinations annually.

We specialize in the application of advanced imaging technologies to specific diseases, with focused imaging protocols tailored to patient presentation and underlying disease processes.

State-of-the-art cardiac CT and MRI examinations, including coronary CTA and stress MR techniques, are supervised and interpreted by division faculty members. Our Cardiothoracic Radiology Interventional Radiology Service performs percutaneous biopsies and drainage procedures under CT guidance.
