Biography

Hi all! My name is Camila Diaz. I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia and moved to Orlando, Florida when I was 13. I attended the University of Central Florida for my undergraduate education and graduated with a B.S. in molecular biology. I then, moved two hours north of Orlando to Gainesville, Florida where I completed medical school at the University of Florida ((Go Gators!). I fell in love with family medicine when I realized that I was able to practice the full-spectrum of medicine (from pediatrics to geriatrics!).

I never thought I would leave sunny Florida, but the family medicine program at the University of Michigan completely changed my inclination to stay close to home. The U-M family medicine program is a great combination of both academic and community practice, which allows you explore the different sides of this field. The quality of faculty and character of the residents was also an influential factor for why I chose this program.

Outside of medicine, I love to run and spend time outdoors. I am also incredibly excited about exploring all that Ann Arbor has to offer!
