Biography

Hi! I grew up in the waterpark capital of the world, Wisconsin Dells, WI. Though I grew up a Badger fan, I went to Marquette for undergrad before venturing to warmer St. Louis for medical school. Entering my third year, I was completely convinced that Family Medicine was NOT for me. I wanted to do more than just clinic. I wanted to do surgeries, Gyn procedures, urology, sports medicine, scopes, and everything else. Little did I realize at the time that Family Medicine had all of that and so much more! I love the connection I am able to make with my patients in clinic, and I love the vast scope of practice that Family Medicine offers. When it came time to choose a residency, I came back up north to brave the cold Michigan winters seeking a strong academic program with a community program feel. I loved the complexity of university hospital programs and the autonomy of community-based programs. Like the true commitment-phobe I am, I did not want to give up either, so Michigan was a perfect fit.

Outside of the hospital, I am a fitness fanatic. My fiance and I have worked through just about every Beachbody program, and we're always looking for new and innovative exercise programs. We both love to cook and have friends over for dinner, which is probably why we work out so much.

Areas of Interest

Clinical Interests

I love everything! That's why I'm in Family Medicine! I do have a particular interest in sports medicine, so Michigan, being a Big Ten powerhouse (usually), seemed like the perfect fit for me. The faculty here are so accommodating that I know I can pursue any one of my many interests in Family Medicine and they will support it wholeheartedly.

Research Interests

I love working with athletes and figuring out how to help them perform at their highest potentials. A large part of performance depends on priming and recovery, so I'm working on developing a research project focused on optimizing these aspects of athletic performance.
