Mack T. Ruffin IV, M.D., M.P.H., the Dr. Max and Buena Lichter Research Professor in Family Medicine, was inducted into the League of Research Excellence.
"I am honored to be inducted into the League of Research Excellence. I have been able to excel in my research with the support of the Department of Family Medicine and the University of Michigan," noted Dr. Ruffin
The League was established in 2011 to recognize faculty who have made significant contributions to the Medical School's research enterprise. Membership in the League is testimony to the quality of the inductees' research and scholarship, and is a reflection of the high regard we have for their service to the Medical School's research mission. Dr. Ruffin is the first family medicine faculty member to receive this honor.
"We are very pleased that Dr. Ruffin was selected to this elite group of researchers. He's had a stellar career, is broadly recognized as a leading researcher in cancer prevention and other areas, and is well deserving of this prestigious award," said Philip Zazove, M.D., the George A. Dean, M.D. Chair of Family Medicine.
