Curtis Bergquist was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He attended college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he studied music. After college he worked as an anesthesia technician and ski instructor. He then received his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University. He plans to focus on valvular heart disease and his research interests include medical device development and surgical education.
Mentoring has helped me throughout residency. My mentors have helped me develop and execute research plans during my clinical years. I have also competed the SIDAC and Coulter programs which have focused on medical device development.
