Biography
Dr. Schoel is a general surgery resident at Michigan Medicine. Dr. Schoel attended medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she was involved in a number of research projects within the Department of Surgery. She was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and she received the Robert J. Cerfolio Award for excellence in surgery and the Clinical Excellence Award for outstanding academic achievement.
Her clinical interests include pediatric and adult congenital heart disease, with a focus on mechanical circulatory support and transplantation. She plans to pursue a career in academic cardiac surgery.
