Can you tell us about your background/training before this fellowship?

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, completed my undergrad in psychology from San Jose State, and then worked as a psych tech/research assistant for a few years. I then attended medical school at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, and then completed my general psychiatry residency with Central Michigan University in Saginaw, Michigan. I moonlight part-time as an on-call psychiatrist with the MDHHS State Hospital system and serve part-time as a psychiatrist in the Army National Guard. I’m married with two young children who keep me plenty busy outside of work!
