Social Work

Our social work staff has a range of expertise in treating children, adolescents, adults, and their families. We provide integrated and family-based perspectives to the diagnosis and lifespan treatment of psychiatric disorders.

Areas of specialization encompass the diagnosis and treatment of anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, major psychiatric disorders, as well as the full range of difficulties that beset infants, children and adolescents. We work within multi-disciplinary teams to provide the best in team-based care.

We are integrally involved in the teaching mission of the Department of Psychiatry providing teaching, supervision and collaborative team experience to Child Psychiatry Fellows and Post-Doctoral Psychology Interns. The Social Work Internship Training Program provides clinical training, for social work interns from the Master’s Degree Program at the University of Michigan School of Social Work. The Social Work Post Graduate Program provides a 1 - 2 year post masters graduate training with extensive clinical experience, supervision and educational opportunities in clinical social work while working towards licensing.
