Toia started her passion for advocacy after graduating with her Bachelors in Social Work. She then started her clinical career in Social Work after graduating in 2019 from Wayne State University with a Master’s in Social Work with a focus on CBT. Toia began working at an inpatient psychiatric prison where ran psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy groups. Toia has also practiced individual psychotherapy with patients with traumatic brain injuries. Most recently, Toia has worked at Sinai Grace as a psychiatric social worker along with her recent position as a risk reduction social worker at Michigan Medicine Department of Social Work in Infectious Disease. Toia is involved in community organizations such as NAACP and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc where she serves her community.
