With over six distinct clinical service lines, a dedicated fellowship program in Hospital Medicine (that includes Quality Improvement and Research pathways), and educational activities that span undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate students, the Division is a “Leader and Best” in Hospital Medicine locally, regionally, and nationally.
Treatment of virtually all types of infectious diseases as well as research on the pathogenesis and treatment of infections, antimicrobial pharmacokinetics, hospital epidemiology, diagnostic microbiology, or the molecular biology of viral and bacterial infections.
Metabolism, Endocrinology & Diabetes (MEND)
Comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in the general area of endocrine and metabolic disorders including diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, pituitary diseases, thyroid diseases, adrenal diseases, abnormalities in the reproductive axis, obesity, and hyperlipidemia.
Dedicated to serving people with kidney disease, including prevention and treatment of acute and chronic kidney disease, management of progressive kidney diseases, pre-preparation and treatment of end stage kidney disease, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and kidney transplantation, renal stone prevention, acid base, fluid and electrolyte disorders. The division is internationally recognized for the excellence of its clinical care and its rich and diverse education and research programs.
Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine
Widely recognized for the excellence of its clinical care and for its educational and research programs pertaining to acute or chronic respiratory disease, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, lung cancer evaluation, pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis and other chronic diffuse interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary embolic disease, sleep apnea, occupational lung diseases, pleural diseases, tuberculosis and other chronic pulmonary infections.
Internationally recognized for excellence in diagnosis and management of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases, basic and clinical research, and training of rheumatology clinicians and students. Disease areas of emphasis in research programs include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, scleroderma, vascular disease, and gout.
