Rheumatology Michigan Medicine

The Division of Rheumatology is recruiting clinical and tenure track faculty at the Clinical Instructor, Assistant, Associate, and Professor ranks. We are seeking clinician/educators, clinical investigators, and investigators in basic mechanisms of rheumatic, inflammatory, and autoimmune diseases. The division is a nationally ranked program with exceptional clinical, translational, and basic science research strengths in multiple disease areas, including SLE, scleroderma, antiphospholipid syndrome, and vasculitis.

Building on these strengths, we are seeking faculty in these areas:

  1. Clinician-educators with a primary focus on clinical care and teaching. 
  2. Investigators in health service research, and/or experimental therapeutics in rheumatic and autoimmune diseases.
  3. Physician-scientists interested in fundamental understanding of rheumatic diseases.

The Division of Rheumatology provides over 32,000 patient visits per year at four locations in, and surrounding, scenic and culturally diverse Ann Arbor. With over 40 active faculty and a robust clinical training program with 8 fellows, as well as an established T32, we are committed to the tripartite academic mission, inclusiveness, and improving lives through treating, curing, and preventing rheumatic diseases.

Qualifications

  • MD or equivalent, ability to obtain MI Medical License, and ABIM certification in Rheumatology. Academic clinical experience with or without active research programs in rheumatology. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected.
  • The ideal candidate will possess the right combination of clinical expertise, leadership, and communication skills to compliment and build our division while enhancing the patient and faculty/staff experience to the highest levels. Successful candidates will embrace innovation in clinical care as we prepare for care delivery models that are required for a better future.
  • This position is posted as Clinical Instructor/Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical Professor as well as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. The rank of the selected candidate will depend on qualifications. Candidates seeking part-time appointments will also be considered.
