Research Interests:
I am interested in identifying and addressing healthcare disparities that afflict our pediatric patient population. Currently, I am performing a study in partnership with the Program for Equity in Adolescent & Child Health (PEACH) to understand if there are disparities in our hospital's rapid response system. Thereafter, my goal is to begin a QI project aimed to provide equitable medical care.
Why Michigan?
I was once told by an intensivist that residency is hard but fellowship is harder. For this reason, I wanted to go to a program that values my education and wellbeing. Meeting the staff, faculty, and fellows, I learned that there is no better place than UM. Everyone is supportive of each other; everyone has fun with each other; and all of this despite working at a rigorous program that exposes their fellows to a miriad of conditions. The leadership also demonstrated an honest interest in my research and career goals. The program offers innumerable opportunities of which I want to take advantage for my learning and development.
Favorite thing about Ann Arbor:
Raised in the Southwest, I am excited to experience the Midwest's weather and four seasons. I look forward to going to the lake in the summer, experience the greenery of the spring, see the trees change color in the Fall, and even playing in the snow in winter. I also look forward to the small city vibe of Ann Arbor, after living in Phoenix and Dallas for years, a change of pace is needed.
