Mission Statement:

Division Director
The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine will provide the highest quality, safe and compassionate care to pediatric patients within our health system. We will provide the best possible education to our patients, families, students, residents, fellows, and staff while also striving to advance the field for our peers.
Clinical Care
Our hospitalists are experienced in the medical management of children admitted to the hospital. We focus on promoting high quality, effective, efficient, safe care in a culturally sensitive, family-centered environment. Current, evidence-based medicine is used to develop, implement, refine and advance best practices in the interprofessional setting.
Research
Faculty within the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Division are actively engaged in clinical and educational research projects. We advocate for safe care through structured quality improvement.
Education
The pediatric hospitalists are the primary teachers of inpatient general pediatrics to medical students and resident physicians at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. We provide supervision of medical trainees 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Pediatric hospitalists are frequently recognized with departmental and medical school teaching awards each year.
